The Xerox Proficio Production Series is Xerox’s new master brand for its production presses, launched in late 2025 and led by the Proficio PX300 (85 pages per minute) and PX500 (100 pages per minute). Built for the mid-production color market, Proficio delivers Ultra HD resolution and an optional fifth color station for clear, low-gloss, and fluorescent pink, “Beyond CMYK,” alongside an ecosystem of FreeFlow workflow automation, XMPie personalization, and AI-assisted production analytics. It’s designed for print providers, in-plant print rooms, and growing businesses ready to bring commercial-grade color in-house.
Proficio marks a genuine shift for Xerox production printing: a single, cohesive press family engineered around automation, color, and specialty effects. For GTA businesses, it lowers the barrier to producing commercial-grade work without an outside press.
THE TWO PRESSES: PX300 AND PX500
The Proficio PX300 runs at 85 pages per minute and the PX500 at 100, both built for real production volume, not occasional jobs. Both deliver Ultra HD resolution designed to stand next to offset and high-end digital output, and both support the optional fifth color station that defines the line’s specialty capability. Managed Print Services can complement production print by helping businesses manage their wider office and document-printing environment alongside higher-volume production.
WHAT “BEYOND CMYK” MEANS
Standard printing uses four inks, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Proficio’s optional fifth station adds clear (for spot gloss and coatings), low-gloss clear, or fluorescent pink for an extended gamut. In practical terms, that’s the shimmer on a premium cover, the pop on a direct-mail piece, and the finish that makes collateral look expensive: effects that used to require a specialty printer.
WHO PROFICIO IS FOR
PRINT-FOR-PAY SHOPS
More applications and more margin: extended gamut, faster turns, and profitable short runs that a light-production device can’t deliver.
IN-PLANT & CORPORATE MARKETING
Consistent brand color, on-demand production with no minimums, predictable per-piece cost, and production control under one roof.
GROWING BUSINESSES
Companies whose marketing has outrun their office or light-production device and whose best work still goes to an outside press.
THE ECOSYSTEM AROUND THE PRESS
Proficio is built to plug into Xerox’s production ecosystem: FreeFlow workflow software automates prepress and job prep, XMPie powers personalized and variable-data communications, and AI-assisted analytics deliver real-time operational insight. The press is one part; the workflow around it is what drives throughput and margin. Production Print is at the center of this ecosystem, helping print providers and in-plant teams manage higher-volume, commercial-grade production efficiently.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the Xerox Proficio available now?
Yes. Xerox opened regional order-taking in March 2026, with shipments in the first half of 2026. hubTGI, as a Xerox Hub Partner, can spec and configure a Proficio press for your operation today.
How is Proficio different from a light-production device like the PrimeLink C9200?
The C9200 Series is an excellent office and light-production workhorse. Proficio steps up to mid-production: higher speed (85-100 ppm), Ultra HD resolution, extended-gamut specialty color, and a production ecosystem built for volume and automation.
What kind of work is Proficio best for?
Commercial-grade color: marketing collateral, direct mail, booklets and covers, short-run commercial jobs, and specialty pieces using clear or fluorescent effects, produced in-house at production speed.
